FAQ

Do spaces count as characters?

Yes. The main count includes spaces; a separate count excludes them.

Why 280 and 160?

280 is the X/Twitter post limit; 160 is the length of a single SMS segment.

Does an emoji count as one character?

Some emoji use multiple code units, so they may count as more than one. Plain text is exact.
